Hosts get to put their property in front of thousands of prospective guests, and guests get a fast, clear and simple way to find somewhere that suits them.

The large platforms charge 15 to 25 percent per booking. The guest pays that through a higher price, and the host loses the direct relationship along with control over someone else's rules and payouts.
